Jack K Waller, J.D. is widely recognized by the real estate industry as a trusted and reliable expert educator, broker, attorney, and author. Jack is well versed on a variety of real estate issues including: Brokerage Practices; Broker Policies and Agency; Contract Law; and REALTOR® issues including the Code of Ethics, Arbitration, and Professional Standards mechanisms of the National Association of REALTORS®.

Jack obtained his original real estate license while working toward his undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University with a specialty in education. On graduation, he combined his background in real estate with his passion for teaching and co-founded NCI Associates, Ltd., one of Michigan’s foremost licensed private vocational schools that specializes in providing entry-level and advanced programs in real estate and construction-related subjects.

After rising to become one of Michigan’s premiere educators, Jack took his knowledge and ability to serve the real estate industry to the next level. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Michigan State University College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan. In addition to serving as NCI’s President, Jack also works with Linnell & Associates, PLLC in an Of Counsel capacity to assist the law firm with its representation of real estate professionals, builders, and their respective clients.

Jack has carved out a niche and is highly sought-after as someone who knows how to uniquely blend practical wisdom, humor, and a straightforward, common sense approach to every subject. He recognizes the two concerns of today’s active professional: (1) Increasing productivity in an evolving marketplace, and (2) Reducing legal risk. To address these timely issues, Jack has developed numerous responsive programs, written textbooks and articles, and instructed thousands of enthusiastic students.

Marjie Waller is responsible for the administrative operations of NCI. Her primary goal is seeing to it that NCI’s growing family of students and clients receive the highest possible level of customer service. Marjie’s other responsibilities at NCI include personnel management, accounting, scheduling, marketing, and production of training materials. NCI benefits from Marjie’s accumulated years of experience as a successful administrative and management expert.

According to Marjie, “In a complex and changing world, a business must be ready, willing, and able to quickly respond and fulfill the reasonable needs of its customers.” Students routinely comment on how they appreciate Marjie’s upbeat and friendly attitude. She lets everyone know how important they are to the school. NCI is fortunate to have this talented individual as its point person for student and client services.

Don Pratt is an active leader in the building industry with extensive, hands-on experience in nearly every phase of residential and commercial construction. Don earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. His many industry designations include the Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR), and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). As President of Wake-Pratt Construction Company, Don oversees the company’s new construction, land development, and remodeling divisions. Wake-Pratt specializes in constructing and remodeling energy-efficient homes through the National Energy Star program.

Don has dedicated many years of loyal service to the industry through his building association work at the national, state, and local levels. He served as President of the Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan (BIASM) and Michigan Association of Home Builders (MAHB), a Life Director and Vice President of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and Chairman of the Board of the NAHB’s National Housing Research Center.

Since 1996, Don has been actively involved in alternative dispute resolution as well as serving as a widely sought-after expert consultant and expert witness in construction-related legal matters. Don is a registered Code Official with the State of Michigan as a Certified Building Inspector and Plan Reviewer. His commitment to the industry is well known and evident as he continues his work to improve the educational opportunities and professionalism of builders and remodelers throughout the United States.
